Timor-Leste’s Foreign Minister to Pay Official Visit to Cambodia This Week

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr. Adaljiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno, will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the invitation of the Cambodian Foreign Minister, Prak Sokhonn, on 26-29 January 2022. This announcement was made in a press release issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Tuesday.

The statement included that during her visit, Minister Adaljiza Magno will be paying a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Hun Sen and also hold a bilateral meeting with Minister Prak Sokhonn to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations and cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concern. This includes Timor-Leste’s application for ASEAN Membership.

Minister Adaljiza Magno is also expected to have separate meetings with other Cambodian dignitaries from both the public and private sectors.

The statement concluded that the official visit of Minister Adaljiza Magno will reaffirm Timor-Leste’s commitment to working more closely with Cambodia to further strengthen relations and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the mutual benefit of both countries.
